Fort Mcmurray in Alberta, Canada is being devastated by a huge forest fire (May 3rd, 2016). Over 80 000 people has been evacuated and many homes, including the home of my Uncle, have been burned to the ground.

The link above is to the Red Cross, and the donations are going to help the people who have been affected by the fire.

so if you live in Canada (especially Alberta) you’re probably aware that the entire city of Fort McMurray is being evacuated due to wildfires. people had ten minutes or shorter to collect what they had and get out. homes have been burning, gas stations are on fire, along with everything that was left behind by the 80,000+ inhabitants of the city. people are stranded on highways, and the hot and dry conditions are only making things worse. i live three hours away, and even i can smell the smoke, and see it in the sky. the situation is being described as “chaotic,” as people are running out of gas trying to get out of the city. PLEASE CONSIDER DONATING TO redcross.ca and do whatever you can to help. 🙏🏻

These photos have been all over my Facebook. My best friend is living in Fort McMurray, Alberta and has lost her home because of the wildfire continuing to destroy the city. Being all the way over on the East coast, I feel hopeless and it breaks my heart. I’m not generally a religious person, by any means, but these people are losing everything and they need your prayers. Many of my family members are living there as well, everyone has been evacuated to my knowledge. Just please keep them in your thoughts, I’m so scared for everyone.
